CSV is the acronym for Comma Separated Value – To fix this – Please follow the following steps: 1. Highlight Column “A” 2. Select the tab at the top called “Data” 3. Select “Text to Columns” 4. Select “Delimited”, then Next 5. Tick “Tab” and “Comma”, then Next 6. Select “General”, then Finish. 7. Your information should be separated into the correct format and you can expand the columns as usual.
Once all your filters are filled in, click the green “ Save this Search” button and follow the prompts.

Yes, there is. If you are looking for “Hotels”, simply type in hotel under the building type filter and it will give you a suggestion which best matches your search. If you require a list of these building types, please contact our Support department and they will gladly assist.
To find specific text or product names in tender documents, open the document (whether PDF or CSV), press “Ctrl-F”, type all or part of the text that you are searching for in the “find what:” box, and press “Enter”.
If you are searching for a project by name, please remember that it is possible that the name could have been captured with a slight variation in the spelling, or the name may not be reflected in Databuild Online. If you have any more information about the project, it can be more reliable to search using other criteria, such as building type, the area the location of the project or the professionals working on the project. Once you have run the search, please scroll down. Your search results will display at the bottom of the Project Search page.
When selecting the project that interests you, rather select the diagonal blue arrows on the right-hand side of the project name – this will open that project into a separate tab on your browser.
Yes, absolutely – You can simply click on the button on the bottom left hand corner of the screen and chat to one of our friendly consultants. Please note that if this displays as “Offline” – this is not that dbonline is offline but rather that there is not consultant available. Please send a message anyway and we will be sure to get back to you!
The feedback button is there for you to give us feedback on what works or does not work for you in the system and for you to provide suggestions for future update etc. You can find this at the bottom right hand corner of dbonline.
Saved Searches are a way for you to keep track of your regular searches. Saved Searches also give you the option of a daily or weekly email which notifies you of any changes or updates to the projects you are looking for.
Once you are logged into dbonline, “Project” will be highlighted at the top of your page (this is a default setting), you will then need to click on the Magnifying glass (the centre icon) and this will take you to the Project Search page.
You can use the “Report Incorrect Data” functionality on the Project Overview page.
When searching, please make sure you fill in ONLY one of the four Area filters (Countries; Provinces; Cities or Suburbs) For Example: Only select the “Province” field, if you are looking for Gauteng. The same applies to the Cities or Suburbs field.
